Abingdon Authors Retreat, Poconos 2009
The Abingdon Authors Writers Retreat in the Poconos in June 2009

| Welcome to Philadelphia |
Before we got there we had to go through an amazing tunnel |
| On the way we saw some wild turkeys at the side of the road. I got out of the car to take their picture, but they were not very friendly. |
This is the cabin where we stayed |
| Here is who made it, despite bad weather and flight cancellations – Kay Strom, Barbara Scott, Joyce Magnim, Jennifer Taylor, Gail Sattler, Christa Allen, Cynthia Ruchti |
And we had an extra attendee, our mascott, Chuck, who stood watch the whole time. |
| We all paid close attention when Barbara Scott led her workshops, including Chuck. |
Unlike a hotel, we made our own meals, and we had to do the dishes, too. |
| Before I went home, I had a driving tour of Philadelphia. I fell in love with the old buildings. This is a post office. |
| This is the inside of a cafe where I had a real Philadelphia Cheesesteak for the first time in my life. And was really in Philadelphia. |
| I was fascinated with the homes, I really liked this one. |
This is a duplex, and they sure don’t look like this where I live |
| We stopped at a historic site that had birdhouses made to look like miniature landmark homes. This one had a fake Canada goose beneath it, which I found funny becuase I see enough of these at home. |
Before I left, I took a shot of the Philadelphia from the airport. |
