I am often awake at very strange and unsual hours.
I have a terrarium window above my kitchen sink,
and one morning, when I was awake just about sunrise,
I looked through the window and saw a Stellar Jay
sitting there on the railing, looking at bird feeder we have hanging.

If you can see, the head of this jay is black,
which makes it a Stellar Jay, unlike a Blue Jay,
which is all blue. For anyone who hasn't seen a Blue Jay or
a Stellar Jay before, they're really a lot bigger than you'd think they are.
They're also pretty noisy, especially in the morning.
